Youth engagement programmes

We are passionate about the welfare and development of the young people in the Borough

We believe that engagement through sports delivered in the community can support young people and help them grow and develop into responsible adults, contributing to society.

The Youth, Community & Schools Team help to support young people aged between 8 - 24 years old, through various youth engagement programmes. Engagement is centred around providing sporting activities, guidance and practical advice on healthy living.

We working in partnership with and funded by, Warwickshire Police & Crime Commissioner and utilise police intelligence to support positive behaviour in identified locations. These sessions happen at various Multi-Use Games Areas (MUGAs) in Nuneaton and Bedworth.

These sessions are ran after school and during school holidays, as follows:

Wednesdays
5.30pm - NEW Westbury Road, Stockingford Rec
6.30pm - Old Hill Top, Barton Rd
7.30pm - Abbey, Pool Bank St

Fridays
5.30pm - Grove Farm, Kingswood Road
6.30pm - NEW Westbury Road, Stockingford Rec
7.30pm - Vale View, Haunchwood Rd

By engaging young people is ‘street sports’ the aim is to assist in reducing alcohol and substance misuse. Also to assist in the reduction of anti-social behaviour and nuisance crime in our communities.

Our expert sports and community coaches also work with group & individual referrals to support young people through sport & health. They also provide advice and direct young people to local sports clubs and activities which are available to them.
