Disability sports and football

We provide disability sports and activities for children across the spectrum of disabilities and are proud to be funded by BBC Children in Need to deliver disability activities in the community.

Our commitment to the provision of sports for disabled young people is driven by a dedicated Disability Inclusion Sports Co-ordinator (DISCO), which is possible through funding from BBC Children in Need.

Free football sessions

In partnership with Higham F.C. and supported by Birmingham F.A, we offer a free disability football session. This disability football runs at The Nuneaton Academy Sports Centre on Tuesdays 5-6pm. This session is for 5-16 year olds with a disability.

The session is free, so come along and join in the football fun, whatever your child’s disability.

Multi-sports sessions

A community session runs from Bulkington Village Centre on Wednesdays (Term Time only) 5.30 - 6.30pm. This is a multi sport session that includes sports such as boccia, indoor kurling, archery, table tennis, golf and many more sports for 5-18 year olds with a disability.

This is part-funded through BBC Children in Need. Sessions are £2.

Disability school session

We have a team of coaches at Exhall Grange and Oakwood schools in the school term. They deliver an after school sports club for some of the children that attend the school funded. This is funded by BBC Children in Need.

Disability Inclusion Day

The BBC Children in Need funding also helps us to deliver disability family fun days per year. This day is a great way for all people living with a disability and their families/ carers to have a day to try new activities, find out more about local services and spend some time together as a family.

All of our activities are delivered by highly competent, qualified and enthusiastic Sports Coaches who all hold:

  • a Level 2 Sports Coaching qualification
  • a First Aid certificate
  • an enhanced DBS disclosure and possess liability insurance

Therefore you can be assured your child will have a safe, enjoyable session. Our comprehensive suite of Health and Safety and Safeguarding policies also underpin all of our delivery.
